I
GET EMAILS FROM OWNERS ASKING ME WHAT I THINK THEIR SLED IS WORTH.
THE WORTH OF A SLED DEPENDS ON MANY FACTORS SUCH AS -
APPEARANCE
- CONDITION - MILEAGE - ACCIDENTED - IS THE MOTOR STUCK - TRACK CONDITION
- RARE MODEL - STORED OUTSIDE / INSIDE - ORIGINAL - HAVING TRANSFER
PAPERS AND SO ON.
I CREATED THESE PAGES TO GIVE BUYERS AND SELLERS A LOOK AT SLEDS THAT HAVE RECENTLY SOLD ON EBAY WITH THEIR DESCRIPTION. THIS IS NOT TO BE USED AS AN ACCURATE PRICE LIST OF A SLEDS WORTH BUT AS A GUIDE TO SHOW YOU WHAT OTHER PEOPLE HAVE BEEN ABLE TO SELL OR BUY A SLED FOR ON EBAY. JUST
REMEMBER - SOMETIMES ON EBAY - 2 BIDDERS DRIVE A SLED'S PRICE WAY UP OVER
THE TRUE VALUE BECAUSE THEY BOTH WANT IT AND THEN SOMETIMES A SLED CAN
SELL ON EBAY FOR A LOT LESS THAN
THIS
GUIDE IS IN NO WAY INTENDED TO TELL YOU THE WORTH OF A SLED. AFTER
ALL A SLED IS WORTH ONLY WHAT THE BUYER IS WILLING TO PAY FOR IT.
I AM POSTING THIS GUIDE AS A SERVICE AND NOTHING ELSE.
I
DO NOT TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE YEAR POSTED WITH THE SNOWMOBILE.

Massey Ferguson Ski Whiz Formula IV. This
is a one year only model and not to many were made let alone survived the
years. I bought this from a buddy a couple years ago with intentions of
retoring it but money and time are sorely lacking, so I'm selling it.
It is in fair condition, with some rust on the tunnel. I think it may have been repainted sometime in the past. Not to bad of a job. I recently(within the last 2 weeks) have rebuilt the motor. It is a 440 cc JLO twin , model 2F-440-2. I put in new rings, gaskets and seals, and put in NOS Bosch points. The cylinders, heads, crank, crank bearings, etc. looked in real good condition. It starts and runs great. This sled originally had dual HR Tillotson carbs, but like many of these sleds, it has been replaced with a manifold and single HD carb. Massey had many warranty piston burndowns so many sleds were converted. I had intentions of putting it back to stock, so I collected a few parts. I am including 2 identical HR 149 carbs(originally were 123 carbs) and two hard to find JLO adaptors for dual HR carbs. The original dual throttle cable is still in place and works great. There are a couple parts left to find for this setup, but nothing that couldn't be easily fabricated. All of the lights work and so does the speedometer which shows around 2200 miles. I will also include a NOS speedo kit that I have. The bottom of the skis are pretty worn, but I have one spare ski in great shape. The cardboard glove box insert is missing. The chrome is in pretty good shape, but the front bumper has some peeling. The seat is in pretty good shape, but one panel on the backrest part was torn and has a duct tape repair. The track is in real good shape. It has the original windshield with original clear trim. The windshield is a little warped from heat but not cracked that I can tell. Also included is an original owners manual, and a couple of new spare drive belts. I may throw in some other parts if I find them before the auction ends. This is sold as a parts sled and there is no title. Winning
bid: US $446.00
