DECEMBER 24 - 2005
Hi David - Here is a front shot of the Snowbugs. From left to right as follows;
Snowbug with Villiers single 3 speed with reverse;
Missing from this picture is my other 1972 Super Snowbug with a transplanted Sachs sa270 single with reverse. I have a few apart right now as you can see by the picture. These machines were first manufactured in 1958 in Sudbury and the final one sadly in 1977.
Prototypes were built as early as 1954. I also have a jacket patch that my father gave me from when he bought the 1962-63 Mini Snowbug in 1964. Lots of good times. I've driven Snowbugs since 1975. My wife and children love them.
We try to attend events such as fund raisers and poker runs. Always a crowd around our bugs. There is an excellent book called Snowbug by Yvon Gauthier published by the Highway Book Shop in Cobalt, Ontario, and in the book on the facing page of page 44 at the bottom is a picture taken of me on my 1962-63 Snowbug in 1983 in Terrace Bay.
