RESTORING THE SPORT ONE PIECE AT A TIME. WHAT IS YOUR SLED WORTH? PAGE 238 |
THE WORTH OF A SLED DEPENDS ON MANY FACTORS SUCH AS - APPEARANCE - CONDITION - MILEAGE - ACCIDENTED - IS THE MOTOR STUCK - TRACK CONDITION - RARE MODEL - STORED OUTSIDE / INSIDE - ORIGINAL - HAVING TRANSFER PAPERS AND SO ON. I CREATED THESE
PAGES TO GIVE BUYERS AND SELLERS A LOOK
THIS IS NOT TO
BE USED AS AN ACCURATE PRICE LIST OF A SLEDS WORTH BUT
JUST REMEMBER
- SOMETIMES ON EBAY - 2 BIDDERS DRIVE A SLED'S PRICE
THIS GUIDE IS
IN NO WAY INTENDED TO TELL YOU THE WORTH OF A SLED.
I DO NOT TAKE
RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE YEAR POSTED WITH THE SNOWMOBILE.

HERE IS HOW THIS AD READ ON EBAY. 1971 Polaris TX Charger 400 with 432cc free air motor. Since this snowmobile has been stored in my garage for the last 10 years, it is time to let it go to someone who can use it better than me. This snowmobile is original and has not been modified aside from the undercarriage, tunnel and skis being sandblasted and repainted in 2002. There is some body filler in the belly pan as all of these seemed to get damaged with a few dents over time, but it is done very nicely and shows great. This is a one owner sled bought new in 1970. Serial number of the chassis is 0627727. The engine is the original 432cc Fuji that has never been apart. The engine is free and the compression is good, spark is good. I fogged the engine a number of years ago and it has not been run since. There are not rips or tears in the seat. I don't know if the tach and speedo work anymore so the mileage may not be correct. Don't know if the lights work either. The track was replaced with a new NOS track in 2002 and has been in inside storage since with only a couple of trips to Waconia for the annual meet. No broken cleats or rotten belts on the track. The tunnel is straight with new cracks or welds. I think the stirrups have been welded at one time. Just can't remember why or when. Original carbs, air cleaners, clutch. The handlebars are welded where they meet the down shaft and they have some rust on them as well as the brake and throttle levers. As you can see in the photos, the chrome bumpers have some rust both front and rear. There is a little rust on the skis and the shocks. The exhaust is original as is the owners manual. The fiberglass hood is in very nice shape with the original hasps. Decals all look good and are complete as is the windshield. Ended:
