TRUE VALUE BECAUSE OF THE TIME OF YEAR IT WAS POSTED OR THE WAY THE PERSON POSTED THE AD.

HERE IS HOW THIS AD READ ON EBAY.

VINTAGE GAS POWERED FLEXIBLE FLYER ICE SLED.

Here's something you don't find everyday. This started out as a regular old
Flexible Flyer sled and ended up as a gas powered ice vehicle. THIS WILL
NOT TRAVEL IN SNOW. It is made for use on a frozen pond or skating rink. I
was told that these were sometimes used to travel out to ice fishing shantys.

It's in pretty nice shape overall and I believe it may have been built in the
1960s. It does run and the engine has great compression. The engine was
built by L-M Manufacturing. A make I've never heard of. Everything seems
to be intact and in working order. It has a DeSoto steering wheel. I've never
taken it out on the ice and tried it out. I'll leave that up to you. The windshield
is cracked and a bit broken, but that's just plexiglass, and easy to replace.
Otherwise, I can find no faults with it, but you are buying it as is.

A:   Hello, All the drive mechanism works. It is just belt drive through a
centrifugal clutch to a jackshaft and then chain drive to the drive wheel. The drive wheel is mounted on a spring loaded swingarm so it always has down
pressure on the ice. It has brakes too that dig into the ice to stop it. The seat is fixed in it's position and you really steer it with your feet. The steering wheel is more for support of the windshield than anything. There's no reason why you
couldn't move the seat to wherever you wanted it also. It's also made for two
people to ride. One person in the seat and the other person right in front of 
the seat, but the little cushion for the front person is missing.
