RESTORING THE SPORT ONE PIECE AT A TIME. WHAT IS YOUR SLED WORTH? PAGE 198 |
I
GET EMAILS FROM OWNERS ASKING ME WHAT I THINK THEIR SLED IS WORTH.
THE WORTH OF A SLED DEPENDS ON MANY FACTORS SUCH AS -
APPEARANCE
- CONDITION - MILEAGE - ACCIDENTED - IS THE MOTOR STUCK - TRACK CONDITION
- RARE MODEL - STORED OUTSIDE / INSIDE - ORIGINAL - HAVING TRANSFER
PAPERS AND SO ON.
I CREATED THESE PAGES TO GIVE BUYERS AND SELLERS A LOOK AT SLEDS THAT HAVE RECENTLY SOLD ON EBAY WITH THEIR DESCRIPTION. THIS IS NOT TO BE USED AS AN ACCURATE PRICE LIST OF A SLEDS WORTH BUT AS A GUIDE TO SHOW YOU WHAT OTHER PEOPLE HAVE BEEN ABLE TO SELL OR BUY A SLED FOR ON EBAY. JUST
REMEMBER - SOMETIMES ON EBAY - 2 BIDDERS DRIVE A SLED'S PRICE WAY UP OVER
THE TRUE VALUE BECAUSE THEY BOTH WANT IT AND THEN SOMETIMES A SLED CAN
SELL ON EBAY FOR A LOT LESS THAN
THIS
GUIDE IS IN NO WAY INTENDED TO TELL YOU THE WORTH OF A SLED. AFTER
ALL A SLED IS WORTH ONLY WHAT THE BUYER IS WILLING TO PAY FOR IT.
I AM POSTING THIS GUIDE AS A SERVICE AND NOTHING ELSE.
I
DO NOT TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE YEAR POSTED WITH THE SNOWMOBILE.

Vehicle Description This
is a 1974 44TT Raider Eagle, 440 ccw engine with electric start, 1500 miles
on it. Currently the gas tank is out of it and should be replaced (the
mounting neck is missing and there is a small repairable hole in the bottom
(see pics). You may be able to rig a different one up or fix this one.
The seats need to be recovered- the originals are all there so you might
be able to get the pattern from them. The engine has good compression and
turns over freely- I rigged an external gas tank up and it fired up immediately.
Electric start works and the carb was rebuilt but still needs to be fine
tuned- it seems to get too much fuel. The tracks seem like they are in
good condition as well as the suspension and skis. There are a few stress
cracks in the fiberglass, but overall this is in good condition for being
35years old and would make a great candidate for restoration. I have put
less than 10 miles on this since I bought it 9 years ago- it has been stored
in my dry garage ever since. Sold As-is.
Some people have been asking what is all wrong with it- After a closer look here is what I can tell you. There is a six inch crack in the side of the windshield, there is some damage to the plastic around the light- the brake lever needs attention(the cable is OK but the lever is taped up. The floor metal seems solid with just light surface rust. The back engine cover is not attached right now because, the wood on the underside of the seat it attaches to, is bad. I just want to reiterate that this is being sold as-is. This snowmobile will require some work. Winning
bid: US $500.00
