Vehicle Description This
is an original unrestored 1963 Abe Matthews Trail Maker. Basicly pull the
cord and ride condition. I actually put about 3 miles on it today and it
still runs great. It's like a little tank and goes equally good in deep
snow or hard pack. Actually they used to sell wheel kits and plows as options
for these. It is all original with the exception of the windshield and
recoil starter having been replaced. It starts and runs great in all tempertures.
It has a transmission so you have forward, netural and reverse. The motor
is a 8hp Kohler which was running when all the pictures were taken today.
The paint on both the sled and engine is all original. The seat is original
with no tears or holes. It even has the original air/vacuum activated throttle
which also works great. There is no rust holes in the chassis and no cracks
or holes in the fiberglass. There is no patching or welding. It has the
optional lighting kit complete with the headlight and tail light which
basicly is like a bike lighting system. Anyway I tried it once and couldn't
get the lights to work. I'm sure it's something simple. The track is in
great shape as is all the wheels. One of the ski leaf springs is broken
and bolted together, It works fine but you could always make a new one
up from a trailer spring.
