TRUE VALUE BECAUSE OF THE TIME OF YEAR IT WAS POSTED OR THE WAY THE PERSON POSTED THE AD.

John Deere 340/S Vintage Race Snowmobile,Fiberglass hood and pan.Dual fill tank.Here is what I know of this sled in a nutshell...When I got it,it had sat for some time in a shed. it had a twist grip throttle on it but the cables were bad so I replaced it with the original throttle assy,Seat has some modifications done to the rear looks like something was added in the rear "fuel tank??" but was removed and restiched up "see pics" there are x-tra snaps added to each side of tunnel to hold something else on ??seat is still held on by velcro.There are 4 holes on each side of the belly pan for a plate?? "see pics" rear door and toolbox are fine.Lots of reinforcements done on engine base plate, sides of tunnel ,and bottom skid......here is what I have been told from different people at different shows.This sled was Team Deere's sled up in Alaska "no proof" It was Dale Cormican's sled "no proof" It was Jon Carlson's waterfall sled "no proof" A few years back I had this sled at Waconia and CJ  walked by it.He looked at the seat and turned around and said Mark I know who's sled this was I have alot of pictures of him on it????WHO CJ WHO??? we exchanged e-mail add and he said I will send you some pics so you can put it back to the as raced condition!!! well someday if I ever get to Heaven I will ask CJ who it belonged to....The sled is 100% complete and runs good ,the original Comet can clutch has something pretty cool done to it as it almost seems to have an overdrive unlike any other 340/s I have ever driven The carbs are marked with a red dot on one side and a white dot on the other.The only information I can get from Deere and Co. is this It was made 12 DEC 1974 and shipped to a Dealer in Northwood,ND.
